This
single story kitchen addition was added to the back of the home, with a cathedral
ceiling and raised floor to match with the existing home. The kitchen was at
the back of the home, in line with the pillar. We preserved the old built in
shelving on the pillar, which serves as a room divider. The new addition also
contains the breakfast room as well as two new double doors leading to the outside
patio. The cathedral ceiling makes it feel larger, and the roof line gives the
back of the home some additional interest. We moved an upstairs window over
to one side to accommodate the new roof line. The kitchen, breakfast and family
rooms all have tile flooring to tie them together. The new kitchen has cherry
wood cabinetry and stainless steel appliances, as well as decorative corbals
on the eating counter near the stove. |
